When holidays arrive we always have the same problem, “what do we do with our pet?” “We want to take it but are there any options” … Finding accessible beaches or hotels may seem like an impossible task. However, in Altea we want everyone to feel comfortable and that’s why we’ve dedicated a little corner of our town as a dog friendly area so that all those who want to enjoy summer with their little ones and not so little furry ones, can do so freely. And if you are looking for accommodations that allows pets, among others, you’ll have the Hostal Fornet, the Hotel Altaia and the Camping Cap Blanch. All just 5 minutes from the Old Town of Altea and next to the paradisiacal promenade.

Fortunately, times advance and little by little the world is becoming aware of how important pets are to their owners. For that reason, the Altea City Council back in in 2016, gave permission to bathing with dogs on La Olla beach, next to Porto Senso. The use of this beach is not exclusive for furry and owners, but for everyone, and for that reason there are basic rules of coexistence such as collecting stools if necessary or muzzling those dogs whose breed is considered potentially dangerous, as indicated by municipal regulations and for the safety of both other citizens and other pets.

This beach, like all the ones we have in Altea, are pebbled, which is perfect for not dragging too much dirt when you get into the car or at home, which is always appreciated. It has clean water, it is semi wild without too many waves and a beautiful seabed for diving. Without a doubt, it is a great option to go to to play and enjoy a bath with your pet.
