Altea begins in June with the activities of the Art Night
On 1 and 2 June Altea will host the second edition of Art Night. An art project that aims to promote culture and art as a cultural tourism attraction, creating quality leisure visitors and publicize existing cultural fabric of the town.This was announced councilors of Culture and Tourism, Diego Zaragoza Anna Alvado respectively and project curator Isabel Martinez; who presented the program scheduled for the second edition of the project.
It is a two-day festival, where the audience can enjoy lectures, art exhibits at participating galleries, guided tours of artists’ studios and art circuit performance and video art open and free. This was announced councilors of Culture and Tourism, Diego Zaragoza Anna Alvado, respectively, and project curator Isabel Martinez.
As noted by the Councilor of Culture, “this year joined the initiative through the Miguel Hernández University of Fine Arts and the Chair Anetta Nicoli.”
Diego Zaragozí recalled that “for the first time been made a contest to participate and have 17 projects that we have received, of which six were selected, three in video mode and 3 performance that will be held during the Night of Art “.
Friday 1 June at 19h will take place at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea a conference on new forms of organized by the Chair curatorship Anetta Nicoli. Then, the first screening of video art projects selected for the Hall Palau Altea; and attend the presentation of the first fashion collection by the artist Jean Coco at 21: 30h at C / San Miguel in which it will also have their space Alte Mario Cabrera, and performance by 23h Valera artist Joana 6 Dimension in space followed by the inaugural celebration of the festival. He detailed Isabel Martinez, who announced that “a new feature in this second edition of the Night of Art, there will also be various workshops and studios of artists who will open their doors to the public.”
Also, the activities begin on Saturday 2nd June with a guided tour at 12: 30h in the studio of the artist Laura Serradilla. At 20pm installation / performance at the Plaza del Convento, followed by two projects of video art and performance, to finish at 00: 00h with a large audiovisual in Church Square by the Vice President culture and University Extension of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
All these activities will be accompanied by three exhibitions will open on June 2 at 20pm Altea simultaneously in three galleries: Space Salmaia, AlteArte and Base Gallery.
With all these activities, the Art Night grows and is consolidated as a cultural project that aims to position the new name of Altea as the cultural capital of the region.
In this sense, the Councilor for Tourism, Anna Alvado concluded stating that “it is a project that is consolidating and is a type of entertainment you want for high quality. I think a lot of attention to the project and allows the tourist knows the culture and art Altea. ”
Both Zaragoza and Altea Alvado have encouraged tourists to participate in the many cultural activities including the program of the Night of Art for the 1st and 2nd of June.
